About

Fred Eaglesmith has played everywhere from The Late Show with David Letterman to the Grand Ole Opry to Lincoln Center, but this fall, Canada’s most uncompromising troubadour brings his whip-smart songwriting and road-tested show back to the small towns that inspired him.

A Juno Award-winning poet of rural Canada, Eaglesmith has spent four decades turning service-station stories, county-fair romances, broken-down tractors, and gravel roads into timeless songs. His devoted fan base, the “Fred Heads,” and his reputation for shows that are equal parts intimate and electrifying have made him a cornerstone of alt-country. His songs have been covered by Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, and Miranda Lambert, and more than 120 artists -from bluegrass to punk - have recorded his cult classic “Alcohol & Pills.” His hit “Trucker Speed” has been named one of the 100 Top Americana Songs of All Time and has generated over 60 million views across thousands of fan-made videos.

For the past 15 years, Eaglesmith has toured with his wife, Texas-born multi-instrumentalist Tif Ginn, whose musical chemistry with Fred brings both classic and new songs vividly to life. After 25 albums and a lifetime on the road, Eaglesmith isn’t slowing do - he’s still pointing the truck toward the next great night of music, delivering a show that’s funny, raw, and deeply human.
