LETICIA TONOS | DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, PUERTO RICO | 2011 | 97 MIN | NR | SPANISH
The Philadelphia Film Society, The Free Library of Philadelphia, Esperanza Arts Center, and Tamo en Cine Films have joined together to launch From Page to Screen: A Dominican Arts & Film Series, a six-week celebration of Dominican culture through film, literature, and the arts.
This series has brought our communities together across books, dance, food, and visual art – and now culminates in a special evening at the Philadelphia Film Society on September 12. Join us in the theater lobby to explore works by Dominican artists and connect with local partner organizations, before we come together for a film screening and talkback with the filmmaker and featured book author. This is a night to celebrate the richness of Dominican culture and the power of community storytelling.
Cast: Carol Foox, Caitlin Mehner, Alexis Rhee
Part of the Philadelphia Film Society’s – Community Screenings Series
The Philadelphia Film Society hosts monthly community screenings at the Film Society Center. With these screenings, the Film Society partners with local arts and advocacy organizations to amplify community voices while making film accessible to new audiences.
Screenings are free, open to the public, and include post-film engagement activities, like quizzo, art projects, and talk backs.
