About
Rox Crit provides the opportunity for artists to receive and give critique in a supportive setting. The goal of this monthly neighborhood artist critique group is to nourish each artist's unique practice, generate challenging creative conversations, and build community. Led by Roxborough-based painter and sculptor Dana O'Malley. All levels welcome, with a focus on practicing artists who are looking to invigorate or restart their practice and gain creative community.
Rox Crit is held monthly on the first Thursday evening of the month from 6pm-8pm. As this is a discussion-based group, space is limited to 10 participants, with a 10 minute slot for each individual critique to allow for all to receive feedback. Drop-ins are welcome if pre-registration does not fill-up. Artists may bring 1-3 physical visual pieces for critique, and several more as digital images or film to share via laptop (potentially a projector, if possible). Given the physical constraints of Art on the Ridge, hanging work will be propped to view on a pedestal (or floor easel), with the consideration that it will be displayed differently outside Rox Crit.
In effort to keep this critique group accessible, price is pay what you can, with a suggestion of $20, $15, or $10
*All participating artists can give feedback, but the workshop/crit will be led/facilitated by Dana O'Malley.
